URGENT:  Safeway SCRIP Cards No Longer Available

This is effective with the next order due on October 28th.  Orders placed on October 14th for Safeway should be filled as they were ordered.

Theresa Cullen, St. Ambrose SCRIP Coordinator

This message came from our SCRIP cards provider.  Please advise your member families that Safeway Gift Cards are no longer available.  Presently, we do not know if or when the gift cards will again be available.  As an alternative, we suggest you encourage your families to use the American Express® Gift Card for their Safeway purchases.  We apologize for the short notice, but the decision by Safeway to stop selling their gift cards came without warning.

Online eScrip Purchases

eSCRIP.COM PURCHASES
When making online purchases through the eScrip.com website, please note two very important things:

1.     In order to get credit for online purchases, you must FIRST click on eScrip’s “Auto EARN” button to download their tracking software to the computer you are using to make purchases.  Without this, they cannot track your purchases to your eScrip account, which means:
a.     Your purchases won’t show up on the reports we get from them;
b.      St. Ambrose will not get any credit for it; and
c.      You will not get credit toward your SCRIP commitment

2.     Purchase of gift cards through their website are excluded from eScrip credit.  This means you will not get credit for gift card purchases through eScrip.com toward your SCRIP commitment.
If you wish to purchase gift cards, please do so through the shopwithscrip.com website or by using the hard copy order form, which is available in the front office.

I have just received confirmation of these issues and sincerely apologize to anyone this may impact.  If you are ever in doubt about what has been reported to the school by eScrip, you can log on to your eScrip account and look at your own reports.  The total amount for each month is what is reported to the school (we do not see your detail).

eScrip Recycling Program

St. Ambrose Catholic School

A Notre Dame Ace Academy

Dear Parents,

St. Ambrose has some exciting news!   We’ve just joined the eScrip Recycling Program. This program is FREE and provides convenient locations for collecting used laser/toner and inkjet cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras, iPods, GPS devices and laptops while raising funds for our school.

How the program works: Collection bins or boxes, clearly marked and accessible during normal school hours, will be placed at in the front office. You can drop off your recyclable items whenever it’s convenient for you. Periodically, our school will mail the items collected at our school to the eScrip Recycling offices. eScrip Recycling will then deposit funds electronically in our groups account!!!

Did you know that every second of every day nine ink cartridges are thrown away? Help us turn this waste into CASH! Please donate your cell phones, digital cameras, GPS devices, cartridges, iPods and laptops by placing them in the collection bins found at area locations throughout the school.

Not only is this an easy way to raise funds, it also teaches our students valuable lessons about the variety of materials that can be recycled and it helps them develop life long patterns.

This program will not be successful without the support of the community and people like you. Thank you for your help in recycling.

Sincerely,

Christy P. Rascón

SCRIP Information

FY 2011/2012

Dear St. Ambrose Parents,

My name is Theresa Cullen, and I’m the volunteer SCRIP coordinator for St. Ambrose Catholic School. This year the SCRIP commitment for each family is $500 per trimester. There are three ways you can reach your SCRIP commitment:

  1. Fry’s Reloadable Gift Cards
  2. eScrip
  3. Purchasing SCRIP Gift Cards through St. Ambrose

Here’s how they work:

FRY’S RELOADABLE GIFT CARDS

You purchase a $5.00 Fry’s gift card from the School (if you haven’t already done so). Each time you shop at Fry’s, go to Customer Service first to reload your gift card. Just tell them the amount – you can pay by cash, check or credit card. You will need to give the system a few minutes to credit your card before checkout, so go do your shopping, and then use your Fry’s Reloadable Gift Card to pay for your purchases.

Note: You get SCRIP credit at the time you reload your gift card. Using your Fry’s VIP card does NOT count toward SCRIP. Please keep your reloadable gift cards – they do NOT expire.

eSCRIP

Good news! eScrip activity DOES count toward your SCRIP commitment! In fact, for those who have already registered, any activity since April 1st will count toward this year’s SCRIP commitment.

You can register your Safeway card and any of your debit or credit cards through eScrip. Then every time you swipe your Safeway card; use your debit/credit cards at participating merchants or restaurants; or make purchases online through www.escrip.com, you get credit toward your SCRIP commitment.

If you haven’t already registered, please go to www.escrip.com to register. More information is available online.

Note:  In order to get credit for your purchases, you MUST:  1) link your account to St. Ambrose (Group ID# 6567821), and 2) enter your RenWeb ID# on the street address line. It’s actually much more important that you enter your RenWeb ID# here than your street address.

SCRIP GIFT CARD ORDERS THROUGH ST. AMBROSE

What’s different this year:

  1. We will place orders twice a month, generally on the 2nd and 4th Fridays
  2. You can now order online – I have set up one account for each family (see your pink SCRIP envelope for your user name and password)
  3. You can now order using PrestoPay (requires ordering online and you must set up your bank account for direct debit before you can order with PrestoPay)

Online orders through www.ShopWithScrip.com

Please use the username and password provided in your SCRIP envelope to finish setting up your online account. You will be prompted to enter a valid email address. Feel free to change your username. I highly recommend you change your password. Please note that in order to set up the accounts, I had to insert some information which I did not have. Everyone was set up with the following default information:  Birth Year = 1980, City = Tucson, and Zip Code = 85716. You can update these as appropriate.

Note:PLEASE leave your RenWeb ID# before the first name on the account. This is how we know which family to give credit for your purchases.

If you need an additional online account set up for your family, please email me with your RenWeb# and the name as you would like it to appear on the account.

PrestoPay

If you'd like to pay directly through your bank account, please click on PrestoPay and follow the instructions. Once you have confirmed the 2 bank deposits into your account, please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your approval code and RenWeb ID#. Please allow 3-5 for the entire process (from signing up to my confirming your approval code) before you can use PrestoPay for payment.

Note:There is a $0.39 convenience fee charged by PrestoPay for each PrestoPay order. This will be added to your cost at check-out. This fee does not count toward your SCRIP Commitment and is not reimbursable by St. Ambrose Catholic School.

Instant Orders with PrestoPay (you don’t have to wait until the due date to get them)

If you're using PrestoPay and don't want to wait until everyone's orders are released on the due date, DO NOT add physical gift cards to your ScripNow! or Reload orders. If you have ANY physical gift cards in your order, your order will be delayed until everyone's orders are released on the due date.

Payment and Submitting Your SCRIP Orders

These are your options:

  1. Order Online & Pay with PrestoPay
Just turn in your pink SCRIP envelope. There’s no need to print a copy of your order – I will be able to see it online. If you don’t have any physical cards in your order, you won’t need to turn anything in (see note on Instant Orders with PrestoPay above).
  2. Order Online & Pay with a check
Please write your Order Reference # on the memo line of your check and turn it in with your pink SCRIP envelope. There’s no need to print a copy of your order – I will be able to see it online.
  3. Use an Order Form & Pay with a check
Please fill out your order form and turn it in with your check in your pink SCRIP envelope.

Note:No matter how you order or pay, please turn in your family’s pink SCRIP envelope to the Front Office by the due date each time you place an order. This is what we’ll use to return your SCRIP cards.

Picking Up Your SCRIP Orders

All orders will be shipped to the School and will be ready for pick up in the Front Office about one week after the order due date. You will be required to sign for receipt of your order.

TRIMESTER COMMITMENT AND FEES

Each family’s SCRIP Commitment is $500 per trimester. For those who don’t participate, you will be invoiced $50 per trimester. Purchases totaling less than $500 per trimester will be billed on a pro-rated basis. If you purchase more than $500 in a trimester, the amount over $500 will carry forward to the 2nd or 3rd trimester of the current school year (just like Commitment Hours).

If you should have any questions or issues, please send me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Sincerely,

Theresa Cullen
